Cyber Security Account Manager
**Role Summary**
Account Manager for a managed security services provider (MSSP) responsible for end‑to‑end ownership of a portfolio of enterprise and mid‑market customers. Focus on retention, expansion, and the conversion of partner, vendor, and inbound opportunities into multi‑service, long‑term relationships.
**Expectations**
- Own a defined portfolio of customers and drive revenue growth through renewals, upsells, and cross‑sells.
- Balance account growth and new opportunity conversion at roughly a 50/50 split.
- Deliver consultative, outcome‑focused cyber security sales to senior stakeholders and the ability to position solutions against business risk, compliance, and resilience.
- Operate in a hybrid, relationship‑led sales environment, traveling to headquarters 3‑4 times per month.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own and develop a portfolio of enterprise and mid‑market accounts.
- Build and execute account plans focused on retention, upsell, and cross‑sell.
- Grow annual contract value (ACV) through renewals, service expansion, and deeper stakeholder engagement.
- Sell across a blended cyber security portfolio, including MDR, XDR, IAM, threat detection, data governance, and professional services.
- Lead outcome‑focused conversations with senior stakeholders, positioning cyber solutions in the context of business risk and measurable outcomes.
- Manage vendor, partner, and marketing‑generated new‑logo opportunities: qualify, scope, and convert inbound leads through structured discovery.
- Collaborate with Microsoft, cyber vendors, channel partners, marketing, pre‑sales, and delivery teams to progress opportunities and ensure commercial soundness.
**Required Skills**
- 3–6+ years of experience in cyber security and/or Microsoft security sales or account management.
- Proven track record managing and growing customer accounts within an MSSP, Microsoft Partner, or managed services environment.
- Strong sales discipline, qualification, and forecasting abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to balance account growth with partner‑led and inbound new‑opportunity conversion.
- Knowledge of managed security services (MDR, XDR), threat detection and response, identity and access management (IAM), data governance, and data security.
- Comfortable operating in a hybrid, relationship‑led sales environment and willing to travel to HQ 3‑4 times per month.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Professional certifications in cyber security or Microsoft technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, CISSP, CISM) are considered an advantage.
