Job Description
Job title: Client Accountant Role Summary: Deliver accurate financial reporting and performance analysis for a portfolio of student accommodation properties, supporting decision‐making, budgeting, and client relations. Skilled in financial modelling, Excel, and data analysis, while collaborating with operations, commercial teams, and stakeholders to optimise property performance. Expectations: Manage finance for multiple assets, prepare management packs and client reports, support forecasting, budgeting, audits and cashflow analysis, and guide new sites into the accounting system. Provide insights and solutions to improve financial outcomes. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee portfolio finance, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. - Produce monthly/quarterly management packs, P&L forecasts, variance analysis and management commentary. - Develop client‑facing reports and investment summaries for decision‑making. - Partner with Operations and Commercial teams on annual budgets, strategy and performance improvement initiatives. - Support audit processes, funding requests, cashflow forecasting and financial modeling (scenario analysis, forecasting). - Provide financial support and guidance to site teams; ensure smooth process implementation. - Assist onboarding and integration of new sites into the accounting system. - Liaise with clients, senior managers and external stakeholders to address queries and provide insights. Required Skills: - Strong analytical ability with proven financial modelling experience. - Advanced Excel (building models from scratch, scenario analysis, overhead reporting). - Experience handling large data sets, delivering accurate results under tight deadlines. - Excellent organisational and communication skills; able to present financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders. - Commercial awareness, proactive problem‑solving, and teamwork across departments. - Adaptability to changing requirements and confidence in multi‑site operations. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. - Actively pursuing or holding CIMA or ACCA qualification is desirable.
