Job title: IT Support and Infrastructure Engineer
Role Summary: Operate, monitor, and maintain critical server, networking, cloud, and security infrastructure while providing Level 2+ support, incident resolution, and project delivery across a global IT environment.
Expactations: 4+ years of hands‑on infrastructure support, mastery of Azure and virtualisation platforms, ability to troubleshoot complex incidents, strong communication and documentation skills, and a proactive approach to security compliance and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor servers, storage, networking, and Azure/cloud platforms.
- Conduct health checks, proactive issue detection, approved configuration changes, and patch management.
- Serve as escalation point for complex incidents, resolve issues, and document root causes.
- Apply security controls, patching, and support ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials initiatives; assist audit preparation.
- Configure LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi, firewalls, switches, and Fortinet devices; monitor performance and flag capacity risks.
- Provision and manage Azure resources (VMware/Hyper‑V), using templated build processes.
- Manage backup and disaster‑recovery solutions (Veeam), conduct fail‑over tests, and document outcomes.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge bases, SOPs, and process improvements; identify automation opportunities.
Required Skills
- Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams).
- Active Directory, DNS, Windows Server/Windows 11.
- VMware ESXi, Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi) and Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP).
- Ability to troubleshoot, monitor events, and script (PowerShell, Azure Automation).
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts and tools (HaloITSM, NinjaOne, Confluence).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified, VMware Certified Professional, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+/Network+, or ITIL Foundation.
