Job Description
**Job title** Business Analyst (6m FTC Pro rata) **Role Summary** Support the Senior Business Analyst in the development of an Accessible Journey Planner for the Government’s Accessibility Roadmap. Tasks involve requirements engineering, data analysis, procurement support, and the establishment of BA standards within the newly created Business Analysis Practice. **Expectations** - Actively participate in stakeholder, customer, and technical teams. - Translate requirements into detailed functional and non‑functional specifications. - Analyse data to support requirement development. - Contribute to procurement processes (RFI, RFP) and supplier evaluation. - Maintain high‑quality, compliant business analysis deliverables. **Key Responsibilities** - Define scope, scope change, and procurement initiatives for accessible journey solutions. - Elicit, document, and prioritise detailed requirements using user stories, use cases, and other techniques. - Conduct data analysis (Excel, SQL) to uncover needs and validate requirements. - Draft procurement documentation (RFI/RFP), evaluate supplier proposals, and assess compliance with rail standards. - Review technical designs and ensure alignment with requirements and industry standards. - Define acceptance criteria and verify that deliverables meet those criteria. - Support commercial agreements, contracts, and change management. - Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to refine requirements and challenge assumptions. - Collaborate with the BA Practice to standardise processes and share best practice. **Required Skills** - Minimum 5 years experience as a Business Analyst or in a related professional role. - Proven ability in requirements gathering, documentation, and prioritisation. - Hands‑on experience with procurement processes (RFI, RFP) and supplier evaluation. - Strong analytical skills, including data investigation and modelling (Excel, SQL). - Proficiency in business and system modelling; familiarity with Visio or similar tools. - Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills. - Detail‑oriented, able to identify and resolve issues. - Familiar with both agile and traditional project management frameworks. - Knowledge of web analytics (Google Analytics) is a plus. - Proactive, delivery‑focused, and able to balance competing customer, project, and development needs. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). - Professional business‑analysis certifications (IIBA, BCS, or similar) are welcomed.
