Job Summary
The IIR is seeking a skilled and impact-driven Project Management Consultant with a strong focus on capacity building to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of international initiatives in the refrigeration and cooling sector. This role will be instrumental in enhancing institutional and technical capacities across member countries, particularly in emerging and developing economies.
The consultant will work closely with the IIR's technical commissions, international partners, and member country representatives to design and implement training programs, technical assistance missions, and strategic knowledge transfer initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine project management expertise with a passion for institutional development, knowledge dissemination, and sustainable technology adoption.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
Lead and manage capacity-building projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
Develop project plans, workstreams, budgets, and monitoring frameworks aligned with institutional goals.
Coordinate inputs from IIR technical experts, partners, and stakeholders.
Capacity Building Design & Delivery
Design and implement tailored training programs (online and in-person) for technical professionals, policymakers, and institutions.
Facilitate knowledge exchange workshops, technical webinars, and mentoring schemes.
Support institutional strengthening through policy support, standards development, and best practice dissemination.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Develop metrics and tools to assess capacity-building impact and effectiveness.
Produce project reports, case studies, and knowledge products for internal and external audiences.
Contribute to donor reporting and partnership development with clear, data-driven communication.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
Collaborate with regional and national institutions, including energy and environment ministries, NGOs, and industry players.
Represent IIR in international fora and technical working groups on capacity development and sustainable cooling.
Foster long-term relationships with country focal points and regional coordinators.
Qualifications
Education
Master's degree or higher in Project Management, International Development, Environmental Engineering, Energy Policy, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably with international organisations or in the field of sustainable development.
Proven experience designing and delivering capacity-building programs or technical cooperation initiatives.
Familiarity with the refrigeration or HVAC sector, climate policy, or sustainable energy systems is an asset.
Skills
Strong project planning and coordination skills, including budgeting and reporting.
Experience with stakeholder facilitation, adult learning methodologies, and training evaluation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a strong asset.
Proficiency in standard project management tools and digital collaboration platforms.
