Internship Opportunity - Software Engineering & Data Analytics | New Jersey Office

House of Code is looking for motivated interns to join our Software Engineering and Data Analytics team. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world enterprise projects in finance and energy, providing a strong foundation for your career in technology.

# What You will do

Develop and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and backend services.
Contribute to backend development with Python (Flask, FastAPI) and web services.
Work with SQL/ORM tools (SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, MSSQL).
Build dashboards and analytics reports (Power BI, Tableau) for business users.
Apply Linux fundamentals for development, troubleshooting, and deployments.
Gain exposure to cloud workflows on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Learn about distributed systems and messaging frameworks (Kafka, gRPC).
Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment with senior engineers and analytics leads.

# What we are looking for

Strong foundation in Python (3.9+), scripting, and SQL.
Familiarity with backend frameworks (Flask, FastAPI) and REST APIs.
Comfort working in Linux-based environments.
Interest in analytics & visualization (Power BI, Tableau).
Curiosity and ability to adapt to evolving technologies.

# Preferred skills (nice-to-have)

Exposure to DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Git/GitHub).
Experience with data visualization and ETL automation.
Prior academic or internship work in backend or analytics projects.

# Internship Details

Duration: 3-6 months (with potential extension)
Location: Remote / Hybrid (New Jersey Office)
Compensation: Currently unpaid. A stipend/compensation may be offered if contributions align to projects after 3 months.
Growth Path: High-performing interns may be offered extended roles on client projects.
