Job Summary

HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at PS7 trillion. This enables over PS1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.

Job Description
The Architecture Practice is responsible for developing the strategy and roadmap of technology within HM Land Registry (HMLR). The practice contains various domains including Solutions, Software, Business, Infrastructure and Security, with this role sitting within the Security Domain as part of HMLR Architecture.
The role supports the governance, assurance, and design of HMLR's Technical Architecture estate. A security architect creates and designs security for a system or service, maintains security documentation and develops architecture patterns and security approaches to innovative technologies.
You will keep up to date with advances affecting their technical domain and will be aware of, and take account of, cross-government initiatives. You will be responsible for the delivery of high-level designs and artefacts that describe HMLR Architecture, and understand the relevant strategies that influence these, and contribute to wider activities that define future roadmaps.

Person specification
This job is based upon the expected skills for a Security Architect role as defined on Government and Data Profession Capability Framework
To be successful in this role you will have experience of designing secure systems, by designing and reviewing system architectures using patterns and principles. You will enable and inform risk based decisions, understanding security architectures and identifying vulnerabilities to prevent and respond to cyber breaches.
You will have experience of identifying and protecting an organisation's assets and be able to demonstrate evidence of communicating with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will keep actively informed of industry developments to make creative and cost effective use of emerging technologies and tools.
