Software Engineer III (Contract)
This is a 6-month contract role. Following the contract period, the role will be reviewed for a potential full-time hire opportunity.

Position Overview
Working with Los Angeles Capital's Software Development Team, the Software Engineer III is primarily responsible for supporting the on-going design, development, and production of the firm's proprietary investment models. The team also supports tools and processes related to investment decision making, trading and back-office operations.
Key Job Responsibilities
Create innovative solutions to meet our company's technical and business needs.
Take ownership of all aspects of a product, including code, database, environment setup and deployment.
Work closely with software engineers, QA analysts and business analysts on product team.
Collaborate with other IT teams, such as infrastructure and application support.
Communicate clearly and effectively with manager, IT members and product users.
Make demos and proofs of concept to show ideas and new features to product team and users.
Frequently perform code reviews and provide helpful feedback.
Manage time effectively.
Prioritize tasks according to urgency and/or user need.
Aware of industry standard best practices.
Provide tasks and projects to employees.
Help employees with career goals and guidance.
Conduct regularly scheduled one-on-ones with employees.
Conduct performance reviews with employees.
Skills and Knowledge Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
4-7 years of experience developing software applications in a professional environment
Expert in either C#, Java or Python
Extensive knowledge of relational or NoSQL database
Extensive knowledge of GitHub or other source control system
Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins or other CI/CD tool
Experience with a public cloud such as Azure or Amazon Web Services
Experience with Jira or other bug-tracking software
Experience supervising other software engineers
Skills and Knowledge Desired
Experience in the investment industry, a plus
This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles, CA which requires weekly attendance.
