Senior Compliance Officer - Consumer Protection-DUTCH SPEAKER

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to strengthen our Compliance team with a focus on Consumer Protection. In this role, you ensure that the organization operates in full compliance with legal regulations and ethical standards while providing expert guidance on retail banking products and services, including mortgage loans, consumer loans, SME financing, current accounts, and market practices. You will act as a trusted advisor to both business and support functions, driving a culture of integrity and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Monitor national and international regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization.
Translate new laws and regulations into clear procedures, instructions, and practical guidance.
Draft actionable compliance advice for business stakeholders.
Review and advise on client-facing products, communications, and processes.
Conduct compliance checks and contribute to policy updates.
Oversee compliance with established procedures and guidelines.
Provide expert advice to the branch network, central services, and local compliance functions.
Promote compliance awareness by developing and delivering training, guidance, and communication.

Profile & Requirements

University degree, preferably in Law.
At least 5 years' experience in compliance or a related advisory function.
Solid understanding of consumer protection regulations.
Experience in customer-facing roles (e.g., branch operations) is a plus.
Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholder requests and prioritize effectively.
Professional proficiency in Dutch and a good command of English.
Knowledge or interest in data protection is a plus.
