Job Title: Database Modeller
Location: Edinburgh/Remote | Hybrid (occasional travel required)
Role Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months
The Role
We are looking for experienced Database Modellers with expertise in the Power Utilities domain. You will design and develop robust data models to support operational and analytical needs, collaborate with business stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Translate business requirements into scalable, efficient data models.
Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and improvements.
Apply best practices in data modelling, including normalization, denormalization, and indexing.
Lead data architecture discussions and present solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Mentor junior data modelers and architects.
Continuously evaluate tools and techniques to enhance team productivity.
Essential Skills & Experience:
5+ years' experience in data modelling, data architecture, or similar roles.
Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
Experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin or IBM InfoSphere Data Architect.
Strong communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly.
Desirable:
Experience in the Power Transmission and Distribution domain.
