The Role

This hybrid role merges cloud-native engineering with traditional infrastructure support. The successful candidate will lead the development, deployment, and operational management of both Azure-based and on-premise environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all IT systems.

The role includes critical match day support and collaboration with data science and cyber security teams to align infrastructure with analytics, compliance, and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Traditional Infrastructure & Endpoint Management

Provide 3rd line support across M365, Intune, Autopilot, and Windows Server environments.
Manage network switches, secure Wi-Fi, virtual machines, and storage systems.
Create and deploy desktop/laptop templates for corporate devices.
Support stadium access systems, ticketing, EPOS, and match day operations.

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

Design, deploy, and manage scalable services on Azure App Service, AKS, ACI, and AWS.
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
Automate build, test, and release processes; enable GitOps workflows.
Work closely with the Technology & Data Science teams to provision, secure & monitor platforms.

Security & Compliance

Configure and maintain Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault, Conditional Access, and Defender integrations.
Collaborate with the Cyber Security team to ensure platform stability and compliance.
Monitor and respond to incidents; enforce secure configurations and policies.

Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with data teams to align infrastructure with analytics pipelines.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
Liaise with IT partners (e.g., DXC, TeamViewer) to deliver contractual solutions.

The Person

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer must possess knowledge of the following to perform their role effectively.

Essential Skills & Experience

Cloud Platforms: Azure (AKS, ACI, App Services), AWS, Azure AD
Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, Bicep, ARM
CI/CD & Automation: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
Security: Defender Suite, Sentinel, RBAC, PIM
Networking & Storage: VLANs, SD-WAN, NetApp, Nimble, Fibre Channel
Endpoint Management: Intune, Autopilot, Conditional Access

Desirable Skills

Experience supporting web-based applications, IIS, and SQL Server.
Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of technologies.
Good understanding of MacOS, MacOS Server, iOS devices.
Good working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Operating Systems
Experience working with LAN and WAN technology (including TCP/IP, DNS, VOIP, Firewalls, switches).
Experience of maintaining security standards.
Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Management,
Ability to create and maintain Technical Documentation.

Competencies

Experience providing training and mentoring to IT Helpdesk team
Excellent customer service skills
Use experience to improve efficiency, identifying issues and resolving problems
Excellent knowledge of working to compliance standards such as ISO27001.
