Your Role And Responsibilities

As an experimentalist, theorist, or quantum information scientist with IBM Quantum, your job will be to advance the field of quantum computing research. Areas of research include superconducting qubits, quantum control, quantum error correction, quantum complexity theory, quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, and quantum compilers and optimizers (among other areas).

We are advancing quantum computing technology, hardware, and software, while exploring applications to make quantum broadly usable and accessible. With a worldwide network of Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions, researchers, educators, and enthusiasts, we are committed to driving innovation for our clients, our partners, and the open source Qiskit community.

Your Responsibilities Will Be As Follows

Advancing the entire quantum computing technology stack and exploring applications to make quantum broadly usable and accessible
Collaborate with others in a research and development environment, participate in executive speaker series, and showcase effective problem-solving skills
Researching experiences in quantum computing, quantum simulation, quantum chemistry, quantum information or related areas

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Experience in an academic graduate program related to quantum computing or other applicable area of study
Coursework or projects in quantum information, computation, or algorithms
Knowledge of classical compilation techniques such as LLVM or similar (LLVM, gcc, ect.)
Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages such as Python
Research experience in an area of study related to quantum computing. And skills and capabilities (excel, Airtable, Power BI, Salesforce are a plus)

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Programming experience in core & scientific language (e.g. python, numpy, scipy, matplotlib) and Qiskit
Recognition as a Qiskit Advocate
Certification as an IBM Quantum Developer (Quantum Computation using Qiskit v0.2X)
Familiarity with Git and/or Github
