Job Specifications
We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst with our client in the financial services industry who can lead business discussions, translate requirements into actionable data solutions, and ensure projects deliver real value. The ideal candidate has deep experience in Wealth Management, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking, and thrives in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
Location: Toronto, ON (3 days onsite / 2 remote)
Duration: 6-month contract | Strong possibility of extension or conversion
Pay Range: $70–$85/hr
Key Responsibilities
Lead sessions with business users to gather and document requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.
Prepare and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Source-to-Target Mappings (STMs), and other key data documentation.
Conduct data profiling, validation, and metadata collection to support project delivery.
Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to ensure data assets meet business needs and project objectives.
Support and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinating with stakeholders to ensure sign-offs and issue resolution.
Provide expert SQL analysis for data validation, integration, and reporting activities.
Liaise across departments to align on data architecture, business definitions, and data quality standards.
Requirements
5–10 years of experience as a Data Analyst within Wealth Management, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking.
Proven track record delivering data-centric projects such as data warehousing, data integration, and master data management.
Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, modeling, and validation.
Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and reporting environments.
Strong documentation skills, including creation of BRDs, STMs, and process maps.
Knowledge of major trading and investment platforms (e.g., Bloomberg Polar Lake, SimCorp Dimension, Eagle, Charles River, Calypso, Sylvan).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to engage effectively with both technical and business audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
2–3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud and Generative AI tools or frameworks.
Exposure to big data analytics or data modernization projects in financial services.
