Mainframe Security Expert – z/OS | ACF2 / TSS / RACF

Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL

Are you a Mainframe Security powerhouse with deep knowledge of ACF2, TSS, or RACF? Are you looking to lead impactful vulnerability management projects and serve as a trusted advisor across security and engineering teams?

We’re seeking a Mainframe Security Expert with a sharp analytical mind, hands-on technical skills, and excellent communication chops to join our high-performance team supporting enterprise security initiatives.

What You'll Do

Provide day-to-day tactical execution and drive security-focused projects to completion.
Lead mainframe vulnerability remediation, including documentation, asset modeling, and compliance hardening.
Serve as a subject matter expert in z/OS security (ACF2, TSS, RACF), STIG hardening, and security frameworks.
Deliver training and support to client staff on our home-grown vulnerability tools.
Interface directly with Information Security and Mainframe Engineering teams, ensuring security standards are implemented effectively.
Apply deep zSecure Audit expertise to assess and improve system security posture.
Conduct or support penetration testing, security consulting, and remediation efforts.

Must-Have Skills

10+ years in Mainframe Security (ACF2 or TSS)
7–10 years of zSecure Audit experience
Strong working knowledge of z/OS STIG, RACF/ACF2/TSS, and vulnerability management
Programming experience with REXX, IBM Syncsort, and ICETOOL
Hands-on experience using CARLa in zSecure
Solid documentation and communication abilities

Preferred Experience

Exposure to vulnerability management tools and best practices
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint
Penetration testing or z/OS security consulting background
Collaborative, self-starter with a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
OR
Equivalent experience with 15+ years in Mainframe Security
