Job Specifications

Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer

Location: London or Manchester (Hybrid; 2 to 3 days per week onsite)

Clearance: Active SC Clearance

Contract Length: Initial 12 months

Day Rate: £650-£675 p/d Inside IR35

We are partnering with a major government department in their search for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to involved in transforming of complex and sensitive data into a modern, reliable data hub used across government and beyond.

You'll work in a multidisciplinary team, solving complex problems, improving platform reliability, and building infrastructure that scales. This is a chance to have real impact on how the public sector shares data.

We're looking for:

Linux expert, comfortable with VMs or containers
Strong Python skills (Ruby a bonus)
Hands-on with databases, web servers, DNS, CDNs, queues, load balancers
Experience building cloud services (AWS preferred)
Skilled in Terraform/CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines
Familiar with Kubernetes, ECS, or serverless
Solid Git knowledge and security best practices
Experience providing technical leadership
