Swoon is actively seeking a Sr. Fastly CDN Engineer to join the team!

US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder are required – (Sponsorship and C2C is NOT available at this time or in the future)

This is a 6+ month contract to hire role

What your day-to-day look like?

Own and optimize the Fastly CDN platform — including VCL logic, caching strategies, and edge compute performance tuning
Architect high-performance edge delivery solutions that reduce origin load, improve global latency, and maximize cache hit rates.
Lead performance and security initiatives across Fastly, NGINX, and Azure — managing SSL/TLS, WAF, and Kasada bot protection integrations.
Automate CDN and proxy operations with Python, Ansible, and CI/CD (Jenkins) for fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments.
Serve as technical lead during incidents, driving quick resolution, clear communication, and post-incident improvements to strengthen reliability

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in CDN management, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps—focused on performance, scalability, and web traffic optimization.
Fastly CDN expert: skilled in writing VCL, tuning caching, and implementing edge logic at production scale. - Open to Akamai CDN as well
Hands-on with NGINX/NGINX Plus for reverse proxy, load balancing, and performance optimization.
Proficient in Azure networking (App Gateway, Load Balancers, Autoscaling) and automation tools like Python + Ansible.
Bonus : experience with Kasada bot mitigation and integrating CDN workflows into CI/CD pipelines.

Contract – 6+-month contract to hire role

Location – Irving, TX 75063 or St. Petersburg, FL

Hybrid Role – 3 days a week on-site

Hourly Rate - $50-$70 an hour
