Client Background & Position Overview

Our client is a leading global technology innovator with a strong presence in advanced semiconductor research and power system development. Their European R&D center in Belgium is dedicated to pioneering technologies in power semiconductors, power electronics, and smart power systems for next-generation applications in energy, mobility, and data infrastructure.

To support their strategic growth and technology roadmap, they are seeking a Technical Expert / Program Manager to join their team in Belgium. This role is crucial in driving high-impact R&D initiatives, technology assessments, and cross-functional innovation programs within the power semiconductor and advanced power systems domain.

Responsibilities

Evaluate emerging power technologies and analyze their business potential through research, simulations, and industry trend studies.
Produce high-quality technology analysis reports for senior leadership to guide strategic decisions.
Lead feasibility studies and early-stage simulations to shape technical roadmaps and product development strategies.
Define and manage corporate innovation projects, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.
Build and manage a network of international partners, including research institutions, suppliers, and ecosystem collaborators.
Facilitate knowledge exchange with internal R&D teams and external stakeholders.
Support prototyping activities for technical assessments when necessary.
Organize and moderate internal seminars, workshops, and technical discussions.

Requirements

PhD in Power Semiconductors, Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 5 years of post-PhD experience in industry or academia related to power semiconductors, power electronics, or smart power systems.
Expertise in at least one of the following areas: GaN/SiC power devices, power electronics modules, smart power systems with embedded control, or power applications in EV, data centers, photovoltaics, or energy storage.
Proven experience in conducting simulations, feasibility studies, and technology analysis.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to handle both technical and business-oriented challenges.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Fluent in English, with willingness to travel internationally for conferences and collaboration.
