Core Banking SME – Finastra – Banking

Exciting opportunity opens for an experienced Core Banking SME at a leading International Bank. This is a great chance to take ownership of bank wide change initiatives and strategic projects. You will closely collaborate with the IT Delivery Manager, Chief Technology Officer and project teams to provide core banking expertise and technical delivery.

Responsibilities:

Work with agreed projects and change teams to deliver change initiatives and strategic projects to the organisation (outlined below)
Work with the Solution and Integration architect to assess and design the target architectures and solutions
Provide technical guidance to the project in terms of core banking and payment platforms
Deliver agreed technical tasks on time, supporting testing cycles and migration to production
Document technical delivery and handover to BAU team

Planned initiatives for 2026:

Business Case to implement a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) including detailed analysis and high-level design
Business Case to implement a GL (General Ledger) including planning
Migration to IBMi Power 10 platform
Implementation of IBMi Power HA
Loans and Collateral Management project
Basel 3.1 project
Migration of Swift to Swift Alliance Cloud
Implementation of off-the-shelf FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme) solution

Requirements:

Proficiency in various programming languages and development frameworks
Experience in application and development lifestyle management
Experience with Kapiti/Equation/Finastra
Experience in analysis and design, testing and documentation of software
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software development
Strong understanding of application lifecycle management
Proven experience with delivery of change initiatives and strategic projects
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical issues.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or relevant technical certifications.
