Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer (Only W2)

Location: Remote

Position Type: Contract

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be a senior-level AWS domain expert with deep hands-on experience architecting, building, and operationalizing enterprise cloud environments in highly regulated organizations. Candidates must be able to operate independently, move quickly, and support an accelerated project timeline.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and build a new AWS cloud environment aligned with the client’s existing enterprise governance and compliance framework.
Implement AWS Control Tower, AWS Config, and IAM guardrails (SCP, Identity, Permissions).
Design and configure AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and network connectivity.
Develop scalable, secure, and automated Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
Implement DevOps workflows for deployment, monitoring, automation, and cloud lifecycle management.
Support ongoing operations and cloud hygiene for the newly built AWS environment.
Collaborate with cloud platform, governance, and security teams to ensure enterprise alignment.
Transition into continued support beyond May 31 through a new contract with Depuy or another J&J team.

The ideal candidate will have:

5–10+ years of deep hands-on AWS engineering experience
Proven expertise in:
AWS Services Architecture
Control Tower
AWS Config
IAM/SCP/Identity
CloudFormation
AWS Networking & VPC Design
Strong DevOps engineering skills for deploying and operating cloud environments
Advanced proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices
Python coding experience for cloud automation
Experience working in large-scale, complex, regulated enterprises
