Location: Midsomer Norton

Job Type: Full-time

Working Hours: Monday - Fridays, 09:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1 hour lunch)

Salary: Depending on Experience

We are seeking a professional and proactive Commercial Paralegal to support our busy Commercial Department. The ideal candidate will undertaking administrative and (QWE-compliant) active fee-earning work in a supportive, one-to-one role.

This role is ideal for someone looking to qualify as a solicitor (or CILEx) in a busy Somerset firm. It will require excellent administrative skills, a passion for learning and self-development, and the drive to succeed in a demanding career.

Candidates should be highly motivated and seeking opportunities for upskilling and progression within the firm, as our firm strategy seeks to prioritise internal progression. We are keen to hear from candidates with their career development plan as early as interview stage.

Key Responsibilities:

Document preparation and amendments
Developing and applying legal understanding
Engaging with live transactional legal matters at all stages
Supporting and learning from colleagues on their matters
Opening new client files and issuing correspondence
Providing quotes and archiving completed files
Handling telephone and in-person client interactions
Scheduling appointments and assisting with general and legal queries
Liaising with the Accounts team for cheques and documentation
Collaborating with colleagues across departments
General clerical duties including filing and photocopying when necessary
