A prominent national law firm is looking for a motivated and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial) to join its In-house Legal Counsel team in Birmingham on a 12-month FTC. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll provide high-level legal expertise, lead complex workstreams, and act as a trusted adviser across the firm. This is an In-House opportunity

What you’ll do:

Lead, draft, negotiate, and oversee complex agreements and commercial workstreams.
Advise on contracts, technology, and data protection/privacy matters.
Identify legal risks and propose pragmatic solutions aligned with business strategy.
Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, paralegals, and trainees.
Support governance, compliance, and continuous process improvements.

Who you are:

Qualified lawyer with 8years PQE experience.
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and solutions-focused mindset.
Autonomous, proactive, and able to communicate complex legal issues clearly.
Experienced in commercial contracts, technology, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborative, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
