Automation Engineer II – Contract

Overview

Our client is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer II with deep expertise in Hamilton liquid handling systems and SoftMax Pro to drive high-throughput assay automation and workflow integration.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain robotic protocols using Venus 4+ for Hamilton systems
Automate plate reader workflows in SoftMax Pro with statistical and data output integration
Lead project intake, scheduling, and stakeholder updates via KanBan, Jira, and Scrum
Program integration tools like Green Button Go or Genera
Collaborate with scientists to translate manual methods into automated processes
Maintain documentation, user stories, and continuous improvement pipelines

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years in lab automation with Hamilton systems
Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and database management (SQL/NoSQL)
Experience with ELISAs, protein assays, and QC workflows
Strong mechanical aptitude for robotic platforms and multi-instrument integration

Excellent verbal and written English; French is a plus
