Job Specifications

HCR Permanent Search is currently working with a leading edge software company who needs to hire a Senior Backend Software Engineer. To be considered, you would need significant experience in the design and development of highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend system

You will architect and build real-time services using NestJS, Prisma, and PostgreSQL (including PostGIS), and deploy them into a modern containerized environment.

Qualifications

8+ years building backend engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in NestJS, TypeScript, and modern Node.js patterns.
Bachelor Degree on Comp Sci or Software Engineering
Deep experience using Prisma with PostgreSQL, including relational modeling and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with PostGIS and geospatial queries (e.g., polygons, point-in-polygon, geofencing).
Proven experience building scalable real-time systems running in Docker or containerized microservice architectures.
Production experience with MQTT messaging (Mosquitto, EMQX, or similar).

Responsibilities

Backend Architecture & Development
Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.
Implement robust data models and queries using Prisma ORM with PostgreSQL / PostGIS.
Develop APIs and services supporting real-time data ingestion, processing, and delivery.
Architect services for horizontal scaling and high availability in Dockerized environments.
Optimize queries, indexing, and geospatial operations within PostGIS.
