AI Solution Engineer – Consulting (Cloud, AI/ML, Pre-Sales)

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 + £5,900 car allowance + bonus
Overview
A leading global consultancy is seeking an AI Solution Engineer to act as the technical bridge between industry architects, sales teams and engineering teams. This role is pivotal in shaping AI solutions, validating feasibility, and building cloud-based prototypes that demonstrate real business value to clients.
You’ll play a key role during early-stage engagement—designing, advising, and showcasing the art of the possible in AI, ML and cloud technologies. This is a client-facing, sales-oriented engineering position suited to someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Shape and design viable AI/ML solutions aligned to client business cases and technical feasibility.
Build and demonstrate prototype AI solutions that showcase value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Act as a trusted advisor during the sales cycle, supporting sales teams in solution selection and early-stage engagement.
Provide expertise on cloud AI platforms and hyperscaler capabilities across multiple vendors.
Translate complex technical requirements into clear explanations for prospects and internal teams.
Support proposal development by identifying feasible AI architectures, dependencies and success criteria.
Ensure solutions take into account cloud security, landing zones, performance and cost optimisation.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong experience working closely with sales teams to shape enterprise AI/ML or software solutions.
Proven expertise in AI Model Architecture, including LLMs and SLMs—performance, training, suitability and deployment.
Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: AWS Bedrock / SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, Azure ML, OpenAI
Solid understanding of statistics, machine learning, data science, big data and data engineering principles.
Knowledge of cloud security, landing zones, and FinOps practices for AI workloads.
Ability to articulate complex AI concepts to both technical and senior business audiences.
Strong problem-solving ability, curiosity and stakeholder influencing skills.
