About the Role

We are seeking a contract Mac desktop application developer to join our team on a project basis. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Swift for macOS development, with additional experience in C++ and .NET to support integration with cameras and other USB-connected hardware devices. This role requires a strong technical foundation, problem-solving ability, and the flexibility to work across multiple programming environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain macOS desktop applications using Swift.
Implement and optimise integrations with external hardware devices (e.g., cameras, sensors) via USB.
Collaborate on cross-platform components using C++ and .NET for device communication and driver-level interactions.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance, compatibility, and connectivity issues.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration with existing workflows and systems.

Requirements

Proven experience developing macOS desktop applications in Swift.
Working knowledge of C++ for performance-critical modules and hardware interfacing.
Familiarity with .NET for device integration and cross-platform communication.
Strong understanding of USB protocols and hardware communication.
Ability to debug complex issues across multiple languages and environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as a contractor.

Nice-to-Have

Experience with Arduino
Familiarity with hardware driver development or low-level system programming.
Knowledge of cross-platform development and interoperability between macOS and Windows.
