Job Specifications

Do you have 7+ years of experience as a Mainframe System Engineer? We are looking for a new colleague to join our team in Brussels, hybrid. (1 day per week on-site)

Requirements:

7+ years of proven experience as a Mainframe System Engineer or similar role
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Strong knowledge of z/OS operating systems
Strong knowledge of IMS (Information Management System) and IMS applications
Strong knowledge of DB2 database management systems
Strong knowledge of Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) for job scheduling and automation
Strong knowledge of REXX/ISPF scripting and programming
Experience managing and maintaining mainframe applications in IMS and DB2 environments
Proficiency in configuring and upgrading z/OS applications including IMS, DB2, TWS, and related software
Proficiency in system performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Experience with DB2 database administration including model changes, SPUFI execution, performance tuning, backup, and recovery
Ability to ensure high availability and optimal performance of mainframe systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system enhancements and upgrades
Experience developing and maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes
Knowledge of security policies and compliance procedures for mainframe environments
Languages: English (fluent)

Job description:

Manage and maintain mainframe applications in IMS and DB2, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
Configure and upgrade z/OS applications including IMS, DB2, TWS, and related software
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance
Manage Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) for job scheduling and automation
Administer and maintain DB2 databases including model changes, SPUFI execution, performance tuning, backup, and recovery
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system enhancements and upgrades
Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes
Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
Use REXX/ISPF for scripting and automation tasks
Perform capacity planning and resource optimization for mainframe systems
Implement and test disaster recovery procedures
Conduct root cause analysis for system issues and incidents
Support end-to-end maintenance of insurance applications on mainframe platform
Coordinate with application teams to ensure smooth operation of business-critical systems
