Vulnerability Management Specialist – Cloud (Contract)

Reading (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Contract – 6 Months (Strong likelihood of extension)

£460/day (Inside IR35)

A leading global technology consultancy is seeking an experienced Vulnerability Management Specialist (Cloud) to support a large-scale security and cloud transformation programme. This role focuses on end-to-end cloud vulnerability management, working closely with security, cloud, and engineering teams to reduce risk across AWS and GCP environments.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct cloud vulnerability scans, analyse findings, and triage risks
Manage vulnerabilities across AWS and Google Cloud (GCP)
Work with tools such as Rapid7 (CloudSec), Cloud Vulnerability Management
Automate vulnerability management tasks using scripting (Python / PowerShell)
Support vulnerability research, hunting, and risk prioritisation
Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to drive remediation
Produce metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting
Support incident response with vulnerability-focused analysis
Contribute to ISO 27001 compliance activities and policy reviews
Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong experience in cloud vulnerability management (AWS & GCP)
Hands-on knowledge of tools such as Rapid7, Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS
Experience designing and improving vulnerability management processes
Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls
Scripting skills for automation (Python, PowerShell)
Ability to prioritise vulnerabilities based on business risk
Strong stakeholder communication and reporting skills

Desirable

Experience with predictive analytics or vulnerability trend analysis
Background in incident response or security operations
Passion for mentoring and continuous improvement

Hybrid working: 4 days onsite in Reading

Contract role: 6 months, strong likelihood of extension
