We are seeking a highly motivated Co-op student to join the Enterprise Data Insights & Impact (EDII) team as a Data Analyst! In this role, you will support the Data Governance and Quality team in delivering high-quality, trusted data across the organization. Key responsibilities include partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure accurate and consistent client and advisor information by overseeing and resolving exception records generated through our enterprise data matching processes. You will also implement and monitor data quality controls, provide analytical support for new initiatives, and maintain documentation for our centralized enterprise data platform.

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you’ll be doing:

Support the review and resolution of exception records generated through enterprise data matching processes to help maintain accurate and consistent client and advisor information.
Implement and monitor data quality checks for new and existing use cases, and provide follow-up and resolution support alongside business and technical teams.
Assist in building, deploying, and configuring tools and processes that enhance data management and operational efficiency.
Conduct data profiling and analysis to support new initiatives, and present findings in a clear and actionable manner using visualization tools when required.
Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for solutions, processes, and data management workflows to support governance and compliance.
Document relevant information about the centralized enterprise data platform and ensure it is accessible through a centralized site for enterprise-wide use.
Perform other duties as required to support the deployment and ongoing improvement of Data Governance and Quality processes.

What you’ll bring:

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program that includes a Co-operative (Co-op) work component
Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Experience with programming and coding languages (Python and PySpark preferred).
Strong analytical abilities and an aptitude for creative problem-solving.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
Proficiency in Power BI, including experience creating interactive dashboards, developing data models, and implementing DAX calculations to deliver actionable insights.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure technologies, as well as experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, and related programming tools (strongly preferred).
