Job Title: Data Centre Administrator - VDI & Cloud Desktop

Location: Phoenix, AZ (2 Days in a week)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Data Center Administrator with strong expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) across on-prem and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), VMware Horizon, on-prem VDI, and Windows 365, along with strong Windows server and virtualization skills. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of enterprise desktop and data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, manage, and support on-prem and cloud-based VDI environments, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), VMware Horizon, and Windows 365.
Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize VDI infrastructure to support enterprise users.
Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi, virtual machines, and storage resources in data center environments.
Monitor performance, capacity, and availability of VDI and data center systems; proactively identify and resolve issues.
Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of VDI components, Windows servers, and virtualization platforms.
Troubleshoot complex issues related to user access, performance, profiles, and connectivity.
Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams to ensure secure and compliant environments.
Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies for VDI and server infrastructure.
Support Windows OS (Windows 10/11, Windows Server) administration and Group Policy management.
Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior administrators when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

8–10 years of experience as a Data Center / VDI / Infrastructure Administrator.

Strong hands-on experience with:

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
VMware Horizon
On-prem VDI environments
Windows 365 (Cloud PC)
Expertise in VMware vSphere / ESXi, virtual machines, and resource management.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Windows 10/11 administration.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
Good understanding of storage, networking, and security concepts in data center environments.
Experience in troubleshooting performance and availability issues in VDI setups.
Exposure to monitoring tools and ITSM processes.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Good to Have

Azure fundamentals and cloud infrastructure experience.
PowerShell scripting for automation.
Experience with profile management tools (FSLogix, roaming profiles, etc.).
Certifications such as VMware, Microsoft Azure, or Windows Server.
Experience working in 24x7 enterprise support environments.
