My client, a Global Technology business, are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Data Center Technician to join our global team and help manage the day-to-day operations of our data centers, network equipment rooms (NERs), and lab environments.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining the backbone of our IT infrastructure — including servers, network equipment, power systems, and environmental controls. You’ll work cross-functionally with global teams, support large-scale enterprise environments, and ensure the uptime, performance, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and oversee daily operations within offices, labs, and NERs, ensuring all systems and hardware are running optimally.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, server, and network-related issues.
Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
Audit and document data center environments; organize cabling and clean up equipment layouts.
Implement and support system monitoring tools; respond to alerts, incidents, and escalations.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and business initiatives.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and internal knowledge sharing.

Additional Responsibilities

Define rack positions and equipment locations within network rooms (e.g., network gear, wall fields, security panels).
Create construction specifications and documentation for low-voltage cabling contractors.
Monitor and track capacity for ports, fiber plants, and PDU outlets.
Configure and connect smart PDUs/UPS systems and collaborate with monitoring teams to set alert thresholds.
Participate in construction site walks; provide regular reports and feedback on technical progress and issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
5+ years of experience in data center operations, server/network hardware support, or IT infrastructure.
Strong hands-on experience with server hardware (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, SuperMicro) and troubleshooting.
Solid knowledge of data center infrastructure, including networking equipment, storage systems, and cooling/power systems.
Proficiency in network protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing systems (e.g., MAAS, Nautobot, ServiceNow, Jira).
Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to support global operations, including occasional travel and working across time zones.
Must be able to work onsite several days a week, with physical capability to rack/install/inspect equipment as needed.
Fluent in English (spoken and written); able to participate in technical discussions and write documentation.
