Purpose
The AI Scientist at Keytrade Bank is a critical role in leveraging the potential of artificial intelligence to drive innovation, efficiency, and compliance within the bank. This individual will design, develop, and maintain AI systems while addressing governance, compliance, and ethical considerations. They will also enhance existing AI products and integrate advanced cloud-based technologies, ensuring Keytrade Bank remains a leader in the responsible and effective use of AI within the financial sector.
Reporting Line
The AI Scientist will report to the AI Innovation Lead and collaborate closely with the data feature team.
Responsibilities
Design, implement and test AI models to enhance decision-making, customer experiences, and operational efficiencies.
Maintain, optimize and test existing AI solutions, ensuring they adapt to emerging technologies and evolving business needs.
Collaborate with teams to integrate AI systems with UI technologies, such as Mendix, to enhance usability and functionality.
Implement and enhance MLOps/DevOps best practices for streamlined development, deployment, and monitoring of AI solutions.
Ensure responsible and ethical use of AI at Keytrade Bank, following guidelines of EU regulations (EU AI Act, GDPR …)
Help in establishing policies to govern the lifecycle of AI models, including accountability, fairness, and transparency.
Work with cross-functional teams to embed governance practices into the deployment of AI systems.
Collaborate with internal security and risk teams to assess and mitigate AI-related risks.
Stay informed about emerging trends in AI and cloud computing to recommend innovative solutions.
Translate technical AI concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders, including non-technical teams.
Support product teams in implementing AI-driven solutions and aligning them with business objectives.
Provide insights on AI products, data and AI governance, and emerging technology trends to colleagues and stakeholders through targeted workshops and “lunch and learn” sessions.
Participate in training sessions, conferences, and industry events to enhance professional growth.
Provide training sessions as trainer in our data & AI Academy.
Skills and Requirements
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
Experience with cloud technologies (Azure or AWS).
Proficiency in MLOps/DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and monitoring tools.
Ability to manage AI and analytics projects with clear deliverables and KPIs.
Experience in AGILE development and cross-department collaboration.
Excellent communication skills to present AI insights to diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tools like Mendix for integrating AI products into customer-facing applications.
Knowledge of financial regulations affecting AI, including the EU AI Act, GDPR and other data protection laws.

Education an Experience
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
2–6 years of experience in AI or data science roles, preferably within the banking or financial industry.
