What to expect….

SUMMARY: The Director of Information Technology develops a strategic and sustainable information technology vision that enables and supports the company’s objectives. An experienced and effective people leader, they provide leadership via coaching and mentorship to a diverse and varied group of technology and business professionals. They are responsible to identify, develop, and hold accountability to the IT department’s goals and objectives. The Director of Information Technology will also hold fiscal responsibility for the department budget and cost-related strategies. They establish, plan, and administer the overall policies and goals for the information technology department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the short term and long-term Information Technology departments comprehensive strategic business plan.
Required to manage people resources through effective mentorship, coaching, and leadership.
Leads the evaluation and selection process for the purchase of IT related capital investments.
Leads the evaluation and selection process for the purchase of IT related goods and services.
Establishes a baseline best practice and implements the direction for best-in-class network security.
First point of contact for the development and execution of solutions for customers and clients; through coordination of the departmental resources and expertise.
Advocates for solutions to ensure employees and contractors can be effective and efficient in their support of the business’ goods and services.
Responsibility in developing and preparing the annual IT budget for approval.
Achieve established annual IT budget.
Represents the company at client meetings.
Leads the IT team to develop customized solutions for internal stakeholders.
Provides project management expertise for IT projects especially as it relates to new technology/system implementations.
Negotiates and manages service level agreements with vendors.
Oversees risk management as it relates to IT policy and Business Continuity.
Responsible for leading and coordinating the functionality and metrics of the helpdesk and support team.
Utilizes Change management principles to help deliver IT best practices and programs.
Responsible for the development and performance management of the IT department.
Establishes goals and objectives for the IT teams based on department’s yearly strategic initiatives.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining all IT operational policies to mitigate risk.
Experience in systems analysis and design. Including the Systems Development Life Cycle.
Leads implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide system tools and ensures scalability.
Through needs analysis of different departments, determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying or developing changes to existing information processing systems.
Manages the research and selection of IT equipment, applications, and supplies.
Monitors operation of IT systems especially the ATLAS system.
Governance of the system architect for Atlas.
Provides database administration for the MS SQL environment.
Interacts with large customers.
Travel as required with possible overnight stay as business needs dictate.

What you need….

Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
Experienced in leading and developing employees spanning multi disciplined IT functions including Helpdesk, Developers, Programmers, Network, System admins etc.
Expert knowledge in software and hardware functionality and nuances.
Proven experience in developing and executing a comprehensive IT strategy and solutions.
Good understanding of ground (truck) transportation and air transportation.
Good understanding of healthcare related practices.
Proven superb leadership skills.
An extremely flexible and adaptable mindset.
