Job Specifications

Reports to:                 Road Superintendent 
Location:                    Initial Placement – To be determined

Minimum Qualifications:
Secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
Good technical and mechanical skills
Valid Class D license with Z endorsement with an acceptable abstract
Ability to operate light, medium, and heavy equipment, including but not limited to standard transmission tandem dump truck, loader/backhoe, snowplow/sander, tractors, chainsaws, weed eaters, etc.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
Demonstrated safe work practices (in compliance with applicable legislation, i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7, County of Brant Health & Safety Policies & Procedures, etc.)
Assets:
Experience with and demonstrated ability to operate road grader
Knowledge related to Public Works
Duties:
Operate a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment, power and hand tools to perform maintenance, repair, construction tasks and winter control operations as related to Public Works type activities
Other relevant duties as assigned
Current Hourly Rate:   $25.91/hour – Probationary Rate                            40 hours/week
                                       $32.12/hour – Full Time Rate
