Job Specifications

Referment is working with a highly regarded boutique asset management firm to hire a talented Software Developer to join a small, high-impact technology team.

This is a great opportunity for a developer who enjoys building and improving real production systems, working close to the business, and thinking deeply about how systems should be designed, scaled, and maintained, without unnecessary complexity.

The role

You'll be working across a broad internal technology stack, helping to design, build, and enhance systems that support a successful fixed income investment platform. The work is hands-on, varied, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities Include

Designing, developing, and maintaining internal applications using C#/.NET, ASP.NET, SQL, and React
Working on cloud-based systems across Azure and AWS
Enhancing data pipelines, automation, and internal tooling
Improving and maintaining a position management system and data warehouse integrations
Building and supporting reporting and analytics tools used by the business
Contributing to system design decisions, with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and clarity
Working closely with business users to understand problems and translate them into technical solutions
Documenting, testing, and deploying code using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code

While development is the core focus, there is scope to take on more business-facing / BA-style responsibility if that's something you enjoy and have experience with.

What They're Looking For

3+ years' experience as a software developer
Full-stack experience, with strong backend fundamentals
Someone who can clearly explain systems they've designed, why they made certain choices, and how they think about trade-offs
Comfortable working across the stack and taking ownership
Curious, bright, and motivated to keep learning
Enjoys working in a small, collaborative team environment

Fixed income or asset management experience is a nice to have, not a requirement. Strong developers without financial services experience are absolutely encouraged to apply.

Why this role?

Join a boutique, high-performing asset manager with a strong reputation
Work on meaningful systems that directly support investment decision-making
High visibility and close collaboration with the business
Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
Competitive compensation and bonus
A role that can grow with you, whether you want to stay deeply technical or broaden into more business-facing work over time

If you're a developer who likes thinking about systems, not just tickets, and wants to work somewhere where your work genuinely matters, we'd love to speak with you.
