Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect with strong expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to help embed security into enterprise platforms, applications, and cloud solutions.

This role partners closely with architecture, engineering, product, and identity teams to ensure secure-by-design IAM patterns are implemented across customer-facing and workforce solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping identity architecture, API authorization, and access controls throughout the solution lifecycle—from concept through deployment.

This is a hands-on architecture and influence role, not an operations or SOC position.

Key Responsibilities

Lead security design and architecture reviews for applications, platforms, APIs, and cloud solutions
Identify identity, authentication, and authorization risks and recommend practical mitigations aligned with security best practices
Design and document secure IAM, CIAM, and API authorization patterns
Partner with IAM and Cloud Center of Excellence teams to mature:
MFA strategies
Risk-based / adaptive authentication
Federation and token-based access models
Collaborate with program and project teams to ensure security risks are identified early and addressed appropriately
Identify architectural gaps in new and existing solutions and support remediation planning and roadmaps
Maintain and expand security architecture documentation, reference designs, and requirements artifacts
Mentor engineers and architects on secure design principles and identity best practices
Influence technical decisions through strong communication and partnership (without acting as a gatekeeper)

Required Qualifications

Strong experience designing and implementing IAM and CIAM architectures
Hands-on knowledge of identity protocols and standards, including:
OAuth 2.0
OpenID Connect (OIDC)
SAML 2.0
Federation patterns
Solid understanding of:
Token design (JWTs, scopes, claims)
Token validation and exchange
Session and trust models across IdPs and SPs
Experience with identity provisioning and lifecycle management, including SCIM and attribute flows
Working knowledge of API security and authorization patterns
Depth in IAM security plus at least one additional security domain (API, cloud, data, or network security)
Experience leading or contributing to security architecture and design reviews
