Role profile

As the Report Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining reporting across financial systems. You will be expected to build strong relationships with key stakeholders; helping to maintain a professional, high-quality service to support the firm's existing financial systems, whilst also being a key resource for future developments and the delivery of roadmap reporting improvements.

This role is based out of our Bristol office on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. You will need to work on a hybrid basis, and we are open to candidates looking for full time or part time opportunities.

The role

Osborne Clarke has recently migrated its Practice Management System to Elite 3E CloudCare. As part of the programme, a suite of Power BI dashboards is being created to support the business in its daily operations and key decision making. A number of these have already been developed, but this role is being added to speed up the delivery of the remaining dashboards ahead of the financial year end. The role sits within the International Finance team, and reports to the Reporting & Development Team Lead.

The Report Developer is a key, hands-on role with responsibility for the maintenance and development of the firm's financial reporting systems including Elite 3E, Elite Data Insights and Advanced Financial Solutions (the firm's budgeting and GL reporting tool) and the data required to support these systems. A key element of this role will assisting in the maintenance and development of the additional global financial dashboards and reports available to the business. In addition this role will assist with the provision of ad hoc reporting across the firm's financial reporting systems.

Areas Of Focus And Responsibilities

Development of a suite of Power BI Dashboards
Understand the reporting needs from both fee-earning and business services departments, providing input into the specification and design of reporting output
Ensure technical standards are defined and adhered to
Create and maintain documentation and technical specifications to support implemented solutions
Develop a strong working relationship with key stakeholders
Trouble-shoot system issues and identify system improvements to meet user and business requirements.

Technical Skills And Experience

Extensive, hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop and Service).
Strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modelling, with demonstrable experience building reports on dimensional models.
Experience with tools such as DAX Studio and Tabular Editor (or similar), with a good understanding of Analysis Services tabular models.
Intermediate to advanced DAX skills, including a solid grasp of core concepts and the ability to optimise measures for performance.
Awareness of, and exposure to, Row-Level Security (RLS) in Power BI.
Able to document solutions through clear, well-structured technical documentation and user guides.
Strong experience in dashboard and report design, data visualisation and data storytelling, working with stakeholders to develop effective views and visualisations.
Awareness of the report/software development lifecycle and associated best practices.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
