Job Title: Financial Data Analyst

Location : Toronto, ON

Mode: Hybrid- 3 days

Contract : 6 Months

Role Summary

The Financial Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in reporting, identifying discrepancies, and driving process improvements. The role involves coordinating with internal stakeholders and vendors to implement fixes and improve the efficiency of financial reporting cycles.

Key Responsibilities

Extract and analyze financial data from the book of record (Clarity system)
Validate transactions and identify discrepancies or errors
Investigate root causes and summarize findings
Develop and coordinate action plans with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve future reporting cycles
Prepare clear documentation and reporting of findings, fixes, and process improvements
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

Required Skills & Experience

Hard Skills

Strong Excel skills (large data sets, formulas, merging files)
Experience with Clarity or similar financial reporting systems
Background in large organizations
Financial data analysis experience

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to identify process improvement opportunities

Nice-to-Have

Experience using Jira or other workflow/project management tools
