Senior Azure Platform Engineer | Azure, Terraform & Kubernetes | Cloud & Platform Consulting
Salary: £75,000–£90,000 + bonus & equity
Location: Hybrid working – c. 1 day per week in office
Requirement: You must already hold active UK Security Clearance.

We’re hiring an Azure Platform Engineer to join a fast-growing cloud and platform engineering consultancy delivering complex enterprise and public sector programmes. This is a hands-on consulting role where you’ll design, build, and improve modern Azure platforms while working closely with client engineering teams.
The business is scaling across platform engineering, DevOps, governance, and cloud-native delivery, offering a strong growth environment with real influence over technical standards and delivery practices.
The Role
As an Azure Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in cloud and DevOps transformation initiatives. In this role, you will:
Design and build secure, scalable Azure platform foundations and landing zones
Assess client environments and identify opportunities for cloud and DevOps improvement
Define and implement Infrastructure as Code for repeatable platform delivery
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support cloud-native development
Embed platform engineering and DevOps best practices into delivery teams
Work across the full consulting lifecycle: discovery, design, build, and handover
Engage directly with stakeholders through workshops, design sessions, and technical reviews
Mentor engineers and contribute to raising engineering standards internally
This is delivery-focused consulting work , there’s no long-term BAU operations, just well-engineered platforms and meaningful client outcomes.
Non-Negotiables
Azure cloud engineering experience in production environments
Terraform infrastructure as code experience
CI/CD pipelines and automation experience
Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and resilience patterns
Experience working in client-facing or consulting-style environments
Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (British citizen or ILR, UK resident for the last 5 years)

Kubernetes and container orchestration (AKS preferred)
Cloud-native security, governance, and networking patterns

Experience in a cloud, DevOps, or platform consultancy
Kubernetes experience beyond the fundamentals
Experience leading small projects or workstreams
Enjoyment of mentoring engineers and sharing best practices
Azure or Kubernetes certifications
