Created at the initiative of the researchers and physicians of the Necker Hospital, Institut Imagine—certified as both an IHU (University Hospital Institute) and a Carnot Institute—develops scientific programs grounded in continuity between fundamental research, clinical research, and innovative care for rare genetic diseases and genetic predispositions to more common disorders, from childhood to adulthood. Imagine aims to accelerate research by organizing it as closely as possible to the patient, in order to provide the diagnostic and therapeutic solutions eagerly awaited by patients and their families.

 

Institut Imagine is the coordinating institution of a large international project studying auto‑antibodies. As part of this program, Imagine is recruiting a Project Manager (M/F) responsible for the implementation and coordination of all activities developed within the project and in close collaboration with the Team Lead (Paul Bastard). The Project Manager will be expected to maintain an overarching vision of the project and interact with all partners—scientific, clinical, industrial, and financial. They will oversee the organizational, scientific, administrative, and financial deployment of the main project and its related sub‑projects, and ensure effective execution and follow‑up, in addition to assisting the Team Lead. They will also be responsible for setting up and coordinating the necessary governance bodies, as well as being in close contact and collaboration with the other international teams involved.

 

MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Program Lead and the Head of the Grant Office, the Project Manager will be responsible for:

 

1. Project coordination and general oversight

Organizing and driving, alongside the scientific coordinators, all actions required to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, and supporting task leaders and partner representatives in delivering their contributions.
Ensuring compliance with the project timeline and adjusting it when necessary, according to actual progress.
Guaranteeing effective coordination among the different international scientific leaders and serving as the main point of contact for all partners, including for management‑related questions in liaison with relevant departments.
Monitoring overall project progress (work package progress, deliverable production, achievement of milestones).
Ensuring the preparation of scientific and financial reports and the quality of documents submitted to the funder.
Formalizing best practices for the consortium regarding communication, confidentiality, data management, etc.
Providing regular reporting to the project administrator through dashboards and management tools.
Alerting the scientific coordinator and the Grant Office Manager in case of difficulties or risks affecting project execution.
 Acting as the primary contact point for the Institute and partners for any project‑related matters.

 

2. Coordination of governance bodies

Organizing steering and follow-up meetings.
Preparing agendas and drafting minutes.
Ensuring implementation of agreed actions.

 

3. Contribution to clinical research planning and regulatory processes

In liaison with the Clinical Research team of the Technology Transfer Office of Institut Imagine and the partners:

Planning research activities and ensuring alignment with the overall project roadmap.
 Monitoring the completion of all necessary regulatory procedures.
Overseeing the progress of studies and the transfer of data/results to the partners.

 

4. Coordination of legal activities

Supporting the preparation of agreements, DTAs and MTAs related to project funding, in collaboration with the legal department of Institut Imagine.

 

5. Budgetary and HR follow‑up

In liaison with the Finance and Human Resources departments:

Monitoring the funding allocated to Institut Imagine.
 Updating the project’s financial forecasts.
Coordinating and monitoring financial reporting with all the partners.
Overseeing receipt and allocation of funds by expenditure category.
Following up on recruitments carried out by Institut Imagine for the project.

 

6. Coordination of communication activities

In collaboration with Imagine’s Communications Department and partner institutions)

 Creating content for the project’s website and related social media accounts.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

Excellent command of written and fluent English
Strong writing skills
Proficiency with office and project management tools
Strong interest in research projects involving health data
Knowledge of regulatory procedures and good practices in clinical research is an asset
Experience in managing multi‑partner, public–private research projects
Ability to support and coordinate a scientific network
Strong organizational and operational skills
High self-direction
