Job Summary:
The Business Analyst – Regulatory & Bureau Management is responsible for reviewing, managing, and coordinating regulatory circulars from insurance bureaus and agencies. This role acts as a key liaison between business stakeholders, compliance, product development, and IT to ensure timely implementation of regulatory changes and ongoing compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance regulatory processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary reviewer for regulatory circulars submitted by various bureaus and agencies, including but not limited to NCCI and ISO transactions (e.g., CA WCIRB, DE Rating Bureau, FL JUA, etc).
Upload, track, and manage regulatory circulars using an internal SharePoint system.
Analyse and understand the linkage, timing, and business impact of regulatory circulars, including dependencies between business requirements and IT development timelines.
Demonstrate familiarity with bureau maintenance processes, including filed circulars, approval circulars, and related regulatory workflows.
Collaborate with Product Development, Compliance, Information Technology, Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and external bureaus to understand regulatory data reporting requirements and specifications.
Partner with various business areas to gather and document attributes and requirements related to regulatory maintenance needs.
Work closely with internal customers to communicate regulatory alerts, facilitate required changes, and support ongoing compliance efforts.
Support report generation, data analysis, and documentation related to regulatory initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by management.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum 6 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in policy administration, regulatory, or bureau-related roles.
Basic knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products; SharePoint experience is a strong plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory information and assess business impact.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and initiatives with changing priorities.
Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Experience with report generation tools and data analysis preferred.
