Job Specifications

Software Engineer (Full-Stack / Event Technology)

Location: Remote (Canada or continental United States)

Reports to: Director of Client Technology Services

Employment Type: Full-time

Why This Role Exists

ATWM designs and delivers complex, brand-sensitive event platforms for some of the most sophisticated teams in the world. As a Software Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in building and extending the technology that powers those experiences — from highly customized event platforms to internal tools and infrastructure that keep everything running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working across the frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Work On

This role spans four core areas:

Platform Branding & Development

You’ll customize and extend event platforms to deliver polished, on-brand client experiences.

Implement creative solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support client-specific branding and functionality
Translate brand guidelines and creative concepts into clean, reliable technical implementations
Collaborate with clients, designers, and internal stakeholders to bring complex ideas to life
Test and refine implementations across browsers and devices
Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues efficiently

Custom Tooling & Proof-of-Concept Development

You’ll design and build tools that solve real operational and client challenges.

Design and develop custom tools through rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept work
Build backend services and APIs to support internal and client-facing tools
Integrate tools with existing platforms, services, and data sources
Document technical designs, assumptions, and implementation details
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate feasibility and scale successful solutions

Infrastructure & Reliability

You’ll help maintain the systems that support our tools and applications.

Monitor and maintain hosted environments to ensure performance, availability, and reliability
Partner with IT administrators on security, access control, and best practices
Assist with diagnosing and improving infrastructure issues as they arise

Contributing to ATWM’s Growth

Beyond delivery, this role contributes to how we operate and grow as a company.

Act as a senior technical contributor within an Agile development environment
Mentor and support junior team members
Help uphold and evolve ATWM technical standards, documentation, and best practices
Collaborate across teams to meet client objectives and service-level commitments
Participate in internal initiatives, planning, and continuous improvement efforts

What You Bring

You’re someone who enjoys solving complex problems and building thoughtful solutions.

Strong full-stack development skills
Ability to adapt quickly and balance priorities across multiple projects
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
Comfort working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
Professional discretion when handling sensitive or proprietary information

Experience We’re Looking For

5+ years of professional software development experience
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (Node.js preferred)
Proficiency with modern frontend technologies and frameworks
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
Familiarity with automated testing practices
Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
