Job Summary

The AI Adoption & Innovation Intern will play a hands‑on role in helping Columbia Forest Products accelerate the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence across the business. This intern will work closely with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and early‑adopter teams to identify opportunities, run structured test cases, document results, and build practical use cases that improve efficiency, decision‑making, and day‑to‑day operations.

Key Responsibilities

AI Testing & Evaluation
Develop and run structured test cases using approved AI tools (e.g., copilots, automation tools, content generation models).
Document test outcomes, accuracy, performance, and limitations.
Compare tools and methods to determine the best fit for specific business workflows.
Surface risks, gaps, or improvement opportunities in model behavior or processes.
Use Case Development
Partner with departments such as Operations, IT, Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing Support to identify high‑value processes where AI can assist.
Translate business challenges into clear AI use cases with defined goals and expected outcomes.
Build small‑scale prototypes or sample workflows to demonstrate proof-of-concept value.
Assist in gathering user feedback and measuring early adoption results.

Daily AI Adoption Support

Serve as a resource for employees exploring AI tools by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance on best practices.
Support the creation of “how‑to” resources, onboarding materials, and internal training documentation.
Promote responsible AI use aligned with Columbia Forest Products guidelines, including data privacy, accuracy, and appropriate use boundaries.

Process Optimization & Documentation

Map existing workflows to identify where AI could simplify, automate, or accelerate work.
Maintain a centralized library of test cases, use cases, examples, and lessons learned.
Track adoption patterns and help IT leadership understand common themes, opportunities, and resistance points.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong curiosity about AI, automation, machine learning, and emerging technologies.
Ability to document findings clearly and communicate them to non‑technical audiences.
Comfortable working iteratively, experimenting, and learning quickly.
Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and DALL-E.
Knowledge of Agents, Bots and MCP a plus.

Duration of internship will be from June 1st to August 14th.
Paid up to 40 hours per week
