About The Opportunity
Our Public Sector client is seeking a Senior Computer Application Support professional to support the modernization of internal information management systems and the development of web-based tools that enhance how operational data is received, processed, and shared among stakeholders. This role will work closely with an established informatics and development team in an Agile delivery environment, contributing to ongoing system enhancements and new feature development.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Design and implement backend functionality using Java, including secure REST endpoints, services, and database operations with HQL, JPA, and SQL
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and store data across Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases
Create, manage, and deploy various services using Docker containers hosted on a Linux-based testing environment
Create and modify Web application interfaces and components in ReactJS or Angular frameworks
Collaborate with the development team following Agile practices, including daily scrums, task management, and documentation
Execute various tests on developed project components and resolve bugs as identified or requested
Write documentation using Agile boards and Wiki tools
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 24 months of experience, in the last 60 months, developing and supporting Web transactional system applications using Java technologies for Government of Canada (GC) departments, agencies, or crown corporations

Minimum of 24 months of experience, in the last 60 months, developing front-end* Web applications using the ReactJS, Angular, or another comparable modern front-end JavaScript framework Framework, for Government of Canada (GC) departments, agencies, or crown corporations
Minimum of 36 months of experience, within the last 72 months, working with relational databases in the Structured Query Language (SQL), for Government of Canada (GC) departments, agencies, or crown corporations
Minimum of 36 months of experience, within the last 72 months, working with different development and deployment tools, such as Git, or Source code versioning application and Docker containers for Government of Canada (GC) departments, agencies, or crown corporations
Intermediate proficiency in English and French
