Azure Cloud Engineer
Location: Cincinnati/Remote (3 days/week onsite)
Duration: 6 months+
Responsibilities:
Identity and Access Management: Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) conditional access policies to enforce robust security controls and ensure secure access to corporate resources.
Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and manage core Azure resources, including Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure Storage (blobs, files, queues), App Services, and other platform-as-a-service (PaaS) components.
Networking: Architect and maintain secure and high-performance Azure networking solutions, including Virtual Networks (VNets), ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, and load balancers to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance.
M365 Integration: Administer and support the Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and SharePoint, ensuring smooth integration with Azure services and adherence to security policies.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor the performance and health of the Azure environment using Azure Monitor and other tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain high availability.
Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, Terraform) to streamline deployment, management, and operational tasks.
Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, conduct regular security assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
Must have:
Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or similar role.
Expertise in writing, configuring, and troubleshooting Entra ID/Azure AD Conditional Access policies.
Hands-on experience managing a wide range of Azure resources (VMs, Storage Accounts, Web Apps, Databases).
Strong knowledge of Azure networking components, including Virtual Networks, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and connectivity solutions like ExpressRoute or DirectConnect.
Proficiency in administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have:
Microsoft Fabric: Experience with or knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and its components (starting in Q3).
Generative AI: Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service or experience managing a homegrown generative AI platform.
