Mode Search are partnering with a modern, purpose-led luxury accessories brand in their search for a Head of Retail to lead and scale their physical retail business. Working closely with the Commercial Director and senior stakeholders, the Head of Retail will take full ownership of retail strategy, commercial performance, and people leadership across the store network. Balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, this role will play a critical part in driving growth, building high-performing teams, and ensuring consistent brand execution across all locations.
The role is based in London and will require regular presence across stores.
The Role:
Own and deliver the retail strategy aligned to brand vision and commercial objectives
Drive sales growth, profitability, and productivity across the retail network
Take full accountability for retail P&L, forecasting, and budgeting
Lead the planning and execution of new store openings, pop-ups, and flexible retail formats
Build and deliver trading plans, key moments, launches, and in-store activations
Champion an elevated luxury customer experience, ensuring consistency across service, VM, and storytelling
Own and develop the clienteling and CRM strategy to drive repeat rate and client lifetime value
Ensure operational excellence across staffing, scheduling, stock, compliance, and health & safety
Act as first point of escalation for day-to-day retail operations
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing retail teams, building a culture of performance and customer obsession
Define training, coaching, and succession planning frameworks for store leadership
Partner cross-functionally with E-commerce, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and Operations to deliver a seamless omnichannel experience
Leverage data and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
10+ years’ retail leadership experience within luxury fashion or accessories
Proven track record of delivering strong commercial performance across multi-site retail
Strong experience managing retail P&L, budgets, and forecasting
Deep understanding of luxury service standards, clienteling, and CRM
Experienced people leader with a hands-on, coaching-led approach
Operationally strong, with the ability to implement scalable processes
Highly collaborative, confident influencing senior stakeholders
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
