TIC Council is recruiting a Public Affairs intern to support the work of the EU Public Affairs team. The successful applicant will closely support the Advocacy & Public Affairs (PAC) team, under the leadership of the Executive Director - Europe.  

TIC Council is the association representing the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector worldwide with presence in Brussels, Washington DC, India and China. As the TIC Council membership covers more than 160 countries, the association has a truly global footprint.  

Responsibilities 

Support the PAC team, specifically relating to European and global sustainability and digitalisation topics: research, policy monitoring, drafting of public events and Parliamentary hearing summaries, support preparation of internal and external meetings, and support to develop advocacy strategies. While work will mostly be based on European affairs, a global aspect is foreseen for part of these tasks.  
Support the work of various Committees with the following tasks: organisation of meetings, drafting of minutes and action plans, follow-up with stakeholders to organise meetings.
Provide support in event logistics, such as promotion, registration tracking, venue organisation, and follow-up activities after the event. 

Who we are looking for 

Passion for EU industrial policy, trade or regulation (studies/internships in IR, EU Law, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy). 
Strong English (and an additional EU language is an asset); sharp researcher & writer who thrives in fast-paced teams. 
Proactive self-starter with eagle-eye detail & problem-solving flair—no prior experience required, but a plus. 
A quick learner who can easily adapt to the fast-paced workplace.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to conduct research independently.

What We offer 

A standard ‘convention d’immersion professionelle – CIP’ professional immersion agreement with a duration of 6 months – per Belgian regulations – starting as soon as possbile.
Direct mentorship, shadow a dynamic team with real opportunities to learn in public affairs based in Brussels.
Possibility for recruitment, if internship performance is satisfactory.
Work in a small and dynamic, international team with exposure to a broad range of international issues.
