Market Access Developer – C++

Salary: £100k-200k

Total compensation: $250k-400k dependent on performance and seniority

A leading quantitative trading firm is seeking a Market Access Developer to join its global engineering team, focused on building and enhancing trading connectivity systems across multiple asset classes. The firm operates a highly collaborative, technology-driven environment, combining research, data, and engineering to solve complex problems in global financial markets.

The Role

You will be a key member of the Market Access team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining trading gateways and market data systems connecting to global exchanges and brokers. This includes full ownership across the development lifecycle — from design and implementation through to deployment and production support.

You will also be involved in exchange upgrades and broker integrations, working closely with external partners, and contributing to low-latency system improvements. The role offers exposure to both upstream and downstream trading systems, with close collaboration across trading, research, and technology teams.

Requirements

5+ years of C++ development experience on Linux
Strong Python and scripting skills
Experience building multithreaded and distributed systems
Experience with trading gateways and/or market data systems
Knowledge of FIX protocol is a plus
Understanding of financial markets/products is beneficial
Experience with low-latency optimisation is advantageous
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
