Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer

Experience: 10+ Years

Location: Onsite

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in IBM mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting large-scale enterprise applications running on the mainframe platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.

Perform end-to-end application development including analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.

Work on batch and online systems in high-volume transaction environments.

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Perform performance tuning, optimization, and code reviews.

Handle production support, incident management, and root cause analysis.

Work with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.

Lead or mentor junior developers and participate in technical discussions.

Ensure compliance with coding standards, security policies, and SDLC processes.

Required Skills

Core Mainframe Skills

Strong experience in COBOL (Batch & Online)

Extensive hands-on with JCL

Good experience in CICS

Strong database skills in DB2

File handling: VSAM, QSAM, GDG

Utilities: SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IKJEFT01

Tools & Environments

TSO/ISPF

Endevor / Changeman / ISPW (any one)

Scheduling tools: Control-M / CA7 / TWS

Debugging tools: XPEDITER / Abend-AID

Nice to Have

Experience with IMS / MQ / Web Services

Knowledge of z/OS, RACF

Exposure to Agile / DevOps environments

Experience in migration or modernization projects (Mainframe to Cloud)

Domain Experience (Preferred)
