Job Role: Intermediate Project Manager- Level 2
Location: Ottawa, ON/Onsite
Position Type: Contract Role
The PMs can work at any of the locations depending which is closest to them:
Ottawa, Ontario
Gatineau, Quebec (Inside NCR)
2-year contract with the potential of option years.
MUST have an active and valid SECRET Level Government Security Clearance.
Ideal Rate: CAD 85-90/Hr (Depending upon experience)
Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma.
Must Have:
24+ months project management experience in a Government of Canada context.
Must have co-authored at least one Statement of Requirements (SOR) in the last 120 months.
Experience supervising project teams.
Tools/Tasks: planning, scheduling, risk mgmt, reporting, stakeholder mgmt.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, and critical paths.
Coordinate project activities across DND teams, contractors, technical authorities, and stakeholders.
Prepare and manage project documentation, including project charters, business cases, scopes of work, schedules, risk logs, and implementation plans.
Support risk management by identifying risks, issues, mitigation strategies, and tracking corrective actions.
Monitor and report on project progress, including schedule, cost, resource usage, and deliverables.
Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action items.
Coordinate technical input from engineering and learning-design teams for documentation and decision packages.
Assist with procurement-related activities, including reviewing Statements of Requirements (SORs) and supporting contract documentation.
Engage with stakeholders, including internal DND groups, external vendors, and partner agencies, to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
Support strategic and business planning, including analysis, forecasting, and preparing briefing materials.
