Title: Business Analyst (Advanced)
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Type: Contract (Onsite)
Pay: $45–$47 per hour
Summary
We are seeking an Advanced Business Analyst to support a full lifecycle Agile development team within a large public sector technology environment. This role partners closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to translate strategic and operational needs into clear business and technical requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in process analysis, documentation, impact assessments, and guiding initiatives from ideation through approval while ensuring alignment with business value and organizational goals.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years of business process analysis and systems analysis experience
• Strong proficiency in process mapping and modeling using tools such as Microsoft Visio
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of data migration practices and methodologies
• Understanding of testing and quality assurance tools and techniques
• Experience with change and release management processes is preferred
• Professional certifications such as CSM, CBAP, PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP, PMP, or ITIL are a plus
Responsibilities
• Research, document, and analyze complex business processes and system dependencies
• Collaborate with technical and functional teams to develop specifications, use cases, and business rules
• Plan and support testing efforts including regression, functional, integration, data validation, and performance testing
• Conduct business needs assessments and translate findings into actionable requirements
• Support business case development, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and funding documentation
• Facilitate stakeholder sessions to elicit, analyze, and prioritize modernization and migration initiatives
• Perform impact analyses and evaluate demand patterns to identify trends and business value
• Identify process gaps, design improved workflows, define performance measures, and support transition planning
• Prepare executive-level summaries while maintaining detailed supporting documentation
• Ensure alignment between business strategy, technical solutions, and enterprise objectives
